My name is Julie and I'm a photographer, based in Kelowna, BC, Canada, aiming to bring stories to life through the images I create.
I'm a fiercely curious observer deeply invested in shedding light on the threads that tie together the human experience and the world around us.
Even without my camera in hand, my mind is capturing images; framing and committing to memory scenes from not just my travels, but my everyday. I always seek to explore new places as that of a local. So, I prefer to move slowly through the world; taking time to notice the smaller details, the unremarkable interactions and the moments in between.
In my photography, I most enjoy challenging myself - and my audience - to find what is alluring and captivating in the ordinary.
I am passionate about celebrating the commonalities of human experience. I explore all forms of local life, our connection to others and nature; those things and moments that make up the bulk of our lives but often go unnoticed. Through my images, I hope to ignite a curiosity for the viewer to find something familiar within them or to imagine the continued stories beyond them - as I so often do.
